Checked against the written quality standard, not by eye or feel alone
Measurements checked against the pattern, and within the allowed margin of error
Material and workmanship checked
Finishing and appearance checked (loose threads, pressing, symmetry, surface finish)
Functional performance checked (closures, seams, moving parts all work as intended)
Inspection performed by someone other than the item's own maker, where possible
Any defect found classified as Critical, Major, or Minor
Every defect, however minor, logged in the Defect Log
Reworked items re-inspected before being passed as complete
